This person or persons will be responsible for initiating group meetings and recruiting and organizing volunteers to work the program.
They will oversee the ordering process and establish your Scrip checking account
They also become your in-house scrip “expert” and answer questions from your participants about the program.
- Address and phone number of your organization.
- Name, address and phone number of your scrip supervisor.
- A Letter of Determination (documentation of your tax-exempt status) and your organization’s tax ID number.
- Information that will allow us to electronically bill your organization.
Your organization’s leaders will have a few decisions to make before you begin your program. For instance, you must determine:
- Financial goals and uses of the scrip program proceeds.
- Bookkeeping methods.
- Logistics for order pick-up and drop-off.
- Promotion plans for your organization’s scrip program.
Introductory meetings are strongly encouraged to get your scrip program up and running properly. The reason is simple... many organizations may not understand the concept at first, and informational meetings are the best way to explain the program clearly. What’s more, at the meetings, organization members can learn about participating businesses, order drop-off and pickup procedures, and guidelines and procedure of your program.
Volunteers sort the orders and total the various scrip certificates needed from each participating retailer.
Place your order by phone or on GLSC's website. Your completed order is shipped to your organization via UPS or FedEx.
Carefully count the certificates you receive from GLSC and verify your order is correct.
Volunteers then fill each individual family order.
